Sherri was 14, a 9th grader, when she appeared on Starcade! episode #41 which included Buck Rogers, Graplop, Mario Bros, Pengo and Popeye as playing games. The Grand Prize was a Rescue Video Arcade Game.

Sherri took this show on Buck Rogers. She and her opponent, Josh Lubitz, were 20 points apart on game one, Graplop. Buck Rogers was the second game played and Josh had some problems and scored only 397 points to Sherri's 3,919. It was a lead that Josh could not catch with game 3, Popeye, even though he beat Sherri on that game.

Sherri went on to play Mario Bros for the Grand Prize and she won, easily.

In her bio for the show, Sherri said, "my favorite video games are Centipede, BurgerTime and Satan's Hollow."

"I am competitive in many things - naming one, video games. If I like the video game and I am interested in it, I tend to catch onto the way to play it best."

Sherri checked in in 2007 to tell us, "Since Starcade, I went on to study Biology and Chemistry at SFSU, graduated in 1997. I received my teaching credential at USF in 1999. I taught in San Francisco Bay Area for 4 years then moved to Las Vegas where I am currently teaching Chemistry and AP Chemistry.  I am working on my Masters in Technology and should be finished by August 2007."

"I still enjoy playing video games on my gameboy and playing video games with my nephew."

Sherri tells us, "one of my students waited until class was over to come up to me - she asked me questions like
Q: "would your picture be on the internet?"
A: possibly
Q did you ever play video games
A: maybe
Q: were you ever on a game show
A: possibly
Then we shared a chuckle - she had been randomly searching video games and what not and saw what she thought was my picture.  So some 20+ years later - the game show is a source of conversation with the youth of today."

Regarding Sherri's prizes, " ... Mr. Disc, I gave it to my brother many years back ... I think I still have the video game (Rescue) in storage (but not sure)."

Hey, Sherri, find that game. It's a classic ... and as for Mr. Disc, that's a true treasure.
